Just revisiting older stuff and sharing thoughts I didn't take time for back then.

This was taken at a farm pond near the house. Maybe it demonstrates NRWS can't read, or maybe they can and just don't care.

I think there might be some confusion here. 'No Trespassing' rules don't apply to the property owners, and these guys know who's land it really is.

I couldn't find photos for the past few weeks after searching and searching all week for them, but this week's bird popped up right near the top of the very first page I looked at. Taken back in Oct 2018 while we were sitting out in our previous backyard.

Quite a few to choose from this week but this has always been a top favourite, from April 2019.

Really tough to choose so added a couple in Overload. This one from a brief spell of adding frames (usually tried to match the color of the frame to a color in the photo)

Good afternoon, Whatbirders! Ya know, I've had this card up my sleeve for a while, and I think this last weekend of summer is a good time to play it. Let's have a big round of applause for

Red Junglefowl (Domestic)

AKA Chickens! If you don't have any shots, go get some!

The guideline is only one photo per species per week, please. On those occasions when I name more than one species, you're welcome to post one photo of each species. Details and stories behind the photos are encouraged!

I had to dig back a few years to find this one. Appropriately, he was hanging around the Dauphin Island (AL) Bird Sanctuary.

I got this one by accident on my honeymoon in Maui. I thought these were regular chickens at the time..

I have a lot of chicken photos; it was hard to pick just one. I live in a rural farm/ranch area and have raised chickens many times over the years. This was my favorite rooster, Rueben ''Rooster'' Cogburn - yep, named after a John Wayne character.
