Re: Birding and activity book for NC
A short bio of each bird would be good - likely habitat, food preferences, favorite nesting sites, behavior clues etc. Maybe 1-4 sentences.

Re: The Weather Topic
Here in the PNW we had an unusually warm start to the winter but that translated into over 20" of rain at my place just in the month of December. We've already passed our average year totals and usually we get half of that in Feb-May. In over 20 years of doing this it's the first time we've ...

Re: Bird behavior
Just had fun today watching a bunch of peeps and observing how their little legs are simply a blur they run so fast. Then my daughter was tracking them and running following their trails, what a lot of abrupt turns and loops they made!

I don't even know how it works, just made me laugh that it was even a thing. The world would be a better place if none of us had or were foes and adversarial though.

To keep the thread balanced ... more gulls
Today, Long Beach WA. There were a couple in the group that were noticeably smaller that the 'normal' gulls we get. Not even sure what the 'normal' ones are but here a a couple of poor phone scope shots if they're any help. I have more shots if needed but don't know that they show anything different.

Well that made it easy. 15 sec in I found a leader of a local Audubon walk by a similar name and by searching that found a photo and contact info within seconds. I'll PM you the info Kevin and let you reach out since you'll be more recognizable.

I believe he(?) was a school administrator or principal. If anyone remembers what region of the country he was from it shouldn't be too hard to track him down.

Re: Lost Whatbirders
I'd been missing it! Especially when I had ID mysteries or when my father-in-law sent me a picture of a nearly all white Bald Eagle. Clear back in the beginning I'd found an article/post that I thought might have a solution to the problem but I had no way to contact anyone. I managed to track down ...

"If a 2-year-old is included in your birding party, you will have low numbers. (floraphile) Ditto terriers. (Charlie Spencer)"
Especially if said 2 yr old is in a front/back pack
