Help with a shorebird

Need help identifying a bird? Please post your question here and if possible include a photo. Also let us know where and when you saw the bird. Other things that help are listing any field marks that stood out, behavioral information like how it walked, hopped or flew. This Forum is just for North American birds.

Help with a shorebird

Post by Sbruenjes »

I saw these birds last week while on vacation at the Oregon coast. I saw these birds at the Necanicum River Estuary - Little Beach in Clatsop County, Oregon. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thats what I thought at first, but when I cleaned the picture up, I don't see a striped head and the beak seems much longer than I have seen on whimbrel before...
