Bufflehead

Need help identifying a bird? Please post your question here and if possible include a photo. Also let us know where and when you saw the bird. Bufflehead

I'm wondering if this Bufflehead is a female or immature male. Can it be distinguished? Seen 2 days ago in north Alabama when there was a beautiful sunrise glow on the water. Thanks
